On April 20, 1970, Zodiac sent the 13-symbol cipher pictured below to the San Francisco Chronicle. Above the cipher, Zodiac included the clue "My name is-." Could the inspiration for this cipher be the graphic below? It appears as if Zodiac virtually copied the first seven characters of his cipher from the bottom graphic, only substituting a Taurus symbol for the Greek letter "E." Is Zodiac implying that he is Greek, or is this another taunt? Perhaps we are to disregard the first seven symbols of the cipher, and look for his name in the remaining six. |
