*The recent media pig pile about the Zodiac killer having allegedly murdered the Black Dahlia has thankfully subsided. The trick with such scams is to sell all of your podcast T-shirts and coffee mugs before your gullible subscribers get the real story. The Zodiac/Dahlia theory is, of course, 100% fake news. However, the nuts and frauds behind such tall tales have their own space within the police departments: The Kook Box (seen below) is where the zaniest tips from the public are collected by police, including from the main proponent of the recent Zodiac/Dahlia fantasy. I know first hand, because I was in the evidence room. You know who wasn’t in there? Michael Connelly.
